My Teaching
Philosophy
My philosophy of art education is to encourage exploration and creativity. I strive to show the vastness of art in my classes through teaching through art history and various artists, both historical and contemporary. Learning about the world through art is a way to broaden the scope of student thinking and understanding. I believe that experimentation of mediums through trial and error helps students grow as artists and critical thinkers; therefore, my classes focus on the process rather than the final product. My goal as an art teacher is to give students the building block skills and historical and cultural knowledge to help them be the best artists and people they can be.
